Jessica Biel in Connecticut?

(Note: It took 20 minutes to find a photo of Biel that wasn’t doctored by Internet pervs)

OK, after two posts in a row about tax credits (maybe that explains my negative 10 authority rating on Technorati), I’m going to throw out a good ol’ unsubstantiated rumor!

According to this random, sort of angry blog, Jessica Biel hoped a flight from Los Angeles to Connecticut on Friday.

She’s apparently around here somewhere to shoot the movie “Nailed,” according to the blog, which showed the former “Seventh Heaven” star checking in her luggage at LAX (something tells me Star magazine isn’t offering the blog huge sums of cash for those photos).

About the flick

According to my sources at IMDB.com, “Nailed” is the latest film from writer/director David O. Russell. He’s the guy who directed “Flirting with Disaster” and “Three Kings,” but he’s probably best known on the Internet for his over-the-top screaming fits with Lilly Tomlin on the set of “I Heart Huckabees.”

A video of the temper tantrum caused an Internet sensation (warning — more f-bombs than “Goodfellas”).

IMDB says “Nailed” is about “a small town waitress gets a nail accidentally lodged in her head causing unpredictable behavior that leads her to Washington, DC, where sparks fly when she meets a clueless young senator who takes up her cause . . .”

The senator is played by some guy named Jake Gyllenhaal.

Russell Unbound

Anyway, the film, like most of Russell’s movies, is apparently plagued with problems.

James Caan (who should be considered the greatest actor of all time based solely on this role in Michael Mann’s “Thief” ), quit the production after a fight with O’Russell.

Apparenly Caan lasted just one day on the set:

The director reportedly wanted Caan to cough and choke at the same time – but Caan refused, insisting he couldn’t do both.

According to Reuters, Russell offered to shoot the scene both ways – but Caan refused and quit.

“Nailed” has also had some cash flow problems:

Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel walked off the set of director David O. Russell‘s new movie Nailed on Friday (9May08), after producers failed to show they had enough money to pay its cast.

The NY Times wrote the definitive profile of Russell in a long story printed in 2004. It references an incident where George Clooney punched — or almost punched? — Russell while filming “Three Kings.”

If I remember correctly, Russell taunted Clooney for his television work on “ER.”

What was I talking about?

Oh yeah, so is “Nailed” filming in the Nutmeg state?

It is not mentioned on the CT Film Division Web site, but its IMDB listing does mention “Connecticut, U.S.A.”

However, a blog obsessed with Jake Gyllenhaal cites print reports saying South Carolina was chosen over Connecticut.
