UPDATE: 12:10 p.m. Overheard you gotta get a ticket to get Bruce Campbell’s autograph, as in “there’s a limited number of tickets.”

So, if you want Ash’s signature, better get here nowish. They’ve already given out about 187 spots.

Luckily, I’ll be getting Glen Baisely’s autograph for free.

Just checked into a room at the Crowne Plaza in beautiful Cromwell, Conn. for my very first Monster Mania show.

I’m totally geeking this one up. I’m here alone. My wife and Brian Spears will be here tonight.

The hotel: old and small compared to the Chiller and Fango shows I’ve attended.

My room smells like the counter at 7/11.

On the bright side, the hotel let me check in three hours early and the room is just $100.

There was no line for “registration” when I first arrived (about 11:45 a.m.) but right now it’s mobbed.

Random dude with mask and a guitar on the elevator:

“You have a beer yet?”

Me: “No.”

Dude: “There’s a liquor store across the street.”

I killed him with my room keycard, a la Burt Reynolds in “Stick.”
